About Connie

from out of the weeds and into the light

Connie is a lay Christian counselor who has served in various ministries around the Atlanta area for over twenty years. Her passion is to share with women about the ever-increasing freedom she has come to know from trusting God's lead in her life.

She is a survivor of childhood sexual abuse and has strived for the majority of her life to overcome its traumatic effects. At the age of forty-two, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. This decision allowed God’s presence and healing to gradually begin working in her life as she grew and matured in her faith.

Fifteen years later, in September of 2009, Connie reached a God-appointed moment in her life. She was challenged at her deepest level to finally address her abuse issues. Her unfailing trust in God combined with a determined desire to finally be freed from her past took her on a journey of healing that has been nothing short of miraculous.

Mere words continue to fail in describing the growth Connie acquired during this time of restoration. Those who know her best can attest to the permanent, ongoing freedom she lives in today.

Connie’s heartfelt desire is to share the freedom God has given her by encouraging other sexually abused women to reach out for the healing available for them through their Heavenly Father.

Facing Forward was birthed from Connie’s experiences and the clear need of women in our communities who are thirsty for a lasting recovery from sexual abuse. Her life verses, 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 fully express the calling on her life;

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”(NASB)
